In the early hours of a rain-slicked Tuesday morning, law enforcement officers in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood arrested 22-year-old Reginald Sean Anderson on multiple firearm charges after a high-speed chase. Patrol officers from B-2 Division observed Anderson's vehicle speeding through the intersection of Eire St. and Washington St., prompting them to initiate a traffic stop, detailed a report obtained from the Boston Police Department's official website.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found that Anderson, a Dorchester resident, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. The failed attempt to adhere to the speed limit betrayed a disregard for the law and public safety due to the hazardous weather, which didn't bode well for the unfolding of the night. A subsequent search by B-2 officers and detectives led to the discovery of a Smith & Wesson SD-9—with a loaded 16-round magazine—concealed within the glove box.
Anderson now faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, authorities from Roxbury’s B-2 station have confirmed the arrest and charges against the young man. As the case advances, Boston Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to Anderson's apprehension and the presence of the loaded weapon in his vehicle.
For the moment, Reginald Sean Anderson remains in police custody, and he is expected to face the music in court for the alleged firearm and traffic violations.
