It was lights out for late-night partygoers in Dorchester on Monday, as Boston police cracked down on the high-decibel disturbances that have been keeping locals awake. The Boston Police Department's Auto Theft Task Force and the B-2 N.E.S.T. team swooped in, and the result was seven arrests, five towed cars, and seized speakers, according to a statement on the Boston Police Department's website.
Cops had their ears to the ground on Pier Point Road, a hotspot for nocturnal noise, responding to both past grievances from fed-up residents and active 911 calls. The seven individuals—taken into custody for their allegedly rowdy revelry—were found turning the streets into an impromptu nightclub.
This crackdown isn't just a drop in the ocean but a clear message to rule-breakers disturbing the peace in the neighborhood. The names of those arrested have been released: 37-year-old Alexi Mateo Santana from Boston, Baryan Bernabe-Cruz, 24, of Mattapan, 20-year-old Janderson Moreno of Roxbury, and Lawrence’s own Jonathan Cruz, 25. Dorchester residents Luis Angel Pina Espinal, 23, Veanny Diaz, 23, of Roslindale, and 22-year-old Yunior Munoz Villar were also among those facing charges.
All suspects are set to appear in West Roxbury District Court to face charges related to the music mayhem.
