In an operation that sealed yet another chapter in a local man's lengthy history with the law, narcotics detectives arrested Brandon Delgado, 40, on charges of drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession.
After Detective Nathaniel Almeida wrapped up an investigation into a cocaine distribution ring, a raid was conducted at 341 North St., apt #1, Delgado's residence. Found in possession of a sizable haul, 345 grams of cocaine and a 38 special revolver with ammunition were seized during the search.
According to a statement on Facebook from the police department, Delgado is no stranger to the legal system, boasting 36 adult arraignments and a prior conviction for cocaine distribution in Boston Federal Court dating back to 2006. The arrest on April 24 adds to his legal woes, as Delgado also has three open felony cases in the Fall River District Court.
Held without bail at the Dartmouth House of Correction, Delgado now faces charges of trafficking cocaine in excess of 200 grams, along with the possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license. The police are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward anonymously through their website or by calling 508-99-CRIME.
