Chalkfest Maple Grove Returns to Main Street with Expanded Activities and Live Music StageSource: City of Maple Grove

Get ready to paint the town red, or maybe a plethora of other colors, as Chalkfest Maple Grove gears up for a vibrant return to downtown Main Street this June. Minnesota's favorite chalk art festival is set for June 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it's promising to be a cornucopia of creativity and community engagement. For those who appreciate the transient beauty of street art, this canvas is Main Street, stretching from Elm Creek Boulevard to a block north of Arbor Lakes Parkway, according to the City of Maple Grove.

Not only is the event welcoming back its spectacular array of artists who will be chalking up the streets but the public is invited to witness the masterpiece-making in action. Spectators can financially support the artists with tips and donations during the festival. Beside each artistic endeavor, there'll be a tip jar or a QR code for patrons to easily show some love and appreciation for the craft with all donations going directly to the artists, as per the City of Maple Grove.

To get everyone in on the fun, the festival is also spreading its wings, expanding its footprint one block north of Arbor Lakes Parkway, as stated on Maple Grove's website. This new expanse heralds the introduction of a Kids Zone, packing a punch with an array of fun activities tailored for the young ones. And when the little Da Vincis tire of chalking, they can head to the new Chalk Art Zone, devised just for families and kids to grab some chalk and try their hand at street artistry.
