The National Weather Service predicts a pleasant end to May with temperatures peaking at 75 degrees today, but thunderstorms are likely from Saturday afternoon, carrying a 70% chance of precipitation and potential rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch.

Tonight, the city will see mostly cloudy skies and a low around 59 degrees, and while Sunday will bring mostly sunny conditions with a high near 70, Monday's forecast shows a return to the potential for showers and thunderstorms, with highs climbing to a warmer, humid 82 degrees the rest of the thunderstorm risk stretches into Wednesday, after which temperatures will slightly drop to around 78 degrees by Thursday. The National Weather Service in Chicago/Romeoville has issued a limited flooding risk and thunderstorm risk for Saturday, Monday through Wednesday, they expect limited thunderstorm risk at times.
