Two Chicago teenagers face serious felony charges after a dramatic daytime carjacking incident, officials said. The suspects, just 14 and 15 years old, have been hit with one count each of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and a single count each of unlawful restraint, stemming from their alleged involvement in the theft of a 34-year-old man's vehicle. These arrests were the result of the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force's efforts, which culminated on May 19, according to a Chicago Police Department release.

Law enforcement apprehended the juveniles in two separate locations, one being caught in the 6400 block of S. Maryland Avenue and his accomplice, minutes later on the 800 block of E. 64th Street. Earlier the day they had allegedly taken the vehicle at gunpoint from the unsuspecting victim in the 1400 block of S. Drake Ave.

The Chicago Police have remained tight-lipped about further details since the arrest of the young offenders. The teenagers, whose names have not been disclosed due to their minor status, are currently being processed through the criminal justice system.
