
A bloody scene unfolded in Dallas during the dark early morning hours on May 18, when three individuals were shot, leading to a double homicide investigation. The violent encounter took place at around 3:00 a.m. in the 2400 block of N. Washington Avenue, where police discovered two sisters, Jalisa and Amaya Lockett, ages 22 and 24 respectively, gunned down and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Dallas Police Department, a man, who has yet to be identified, was also shot and has allegedly managed to quickly be transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The police have quickly moved to charge Saadiq Shabazz, 25, with Capital Murder in connection with the fatal shootings.
Shabazz now sits in the Dallas County Jail as the community grapples with the loss of the two young women. While details are scarce, the investigation, filed under case number 077110-2024, remains active as detectives work to piece together the events that led to this tragedy.
