
Tragedy struck Chicago's Little Village neighborhood as two men, aged 27 and 29, were discovered dead with multiple gunshot wounds. According to the Chicago Tribune, the victims were found on the Southwest Side, on the 2800 block of South Sacramento Avenue, shortly before 2 a.m. Police pronounced both men dead at the scene, marking a grim beginning to the holiday weekend.
In a separate report by NBC Chicago, it was revealed that the two men were inside a vehicle that was involved in a car crash nearby, in the 3100 block of South Kedzie Avenue, before the fatal shootings occurred. The incident unfolded at La Villita Park's soccer field in the same area, where responding officers found them, reinforcing the distressing narrative of violence that has become too common in some Chicago neighborhoods.
As of now, no arrests have been made and details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the shootings remain unclear. Area 4 detectives are diligently working on the case in hopes of piecing together the events that led to this double homicide.
