A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a pedestrian on the Airport Freeway in North Richland Hills, Texas, last Friday night. According to authorities, the North Richland Hills Communication Center received an emergency call at approximately 8:47 PM reporting that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the 8600 block of eastbound Airport Freeway and then fled the scene without stopping to render aid or await authorities, according to the North Richland Hills Police Department.

The victim, whose identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was rushed to Cooks Hospital by North Richland Hills Fire Department medics. Despite efforts to save the individual, he succumbed to the injuries sustained during the collision. The North Richland Hills Police Department has now launched an active investigation to try and track down the perpetrator who, seemingly without remorse, chose to simply drive away.
