The harrowing accident occurred Thursday afternoon at the juncture of Northwest 7th Avenue and 122nd Street, according to NBC Miami, when two silver SUVs flipped over, wreaking havoc at the busy intersection.
Emergency crews scrambled to the site of the crash, finding the overturned vehicles and multiple victims. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue informed WSVN that apart from the fatality and the critically injured individual, sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, another person incurred minor injuries and was treated at the scene. North Miami Police have since closed several blocks of Northwest Seventh Avenue, urging commuters to find alternative routes through the disruption.
Sky 10 aerial footage showed the severity of the accident with both vehicles upended on the sidewalk and extending into a parking lot, as reported by Local 10. The area, laden with businesses and bystanders, transformed into a rescue zone, as locals and passersby rushed to aid the stricken individuals. One man reportedly broke a window to extricate a woman from her metallic coffin on wheels before emergency services took over.

Witnesses to the incident, including Judy Phillip and Blade Benjamin, recounted their shock and despair to NBC Miami. "It flipped," said Phillip, who witnessed the horrific collision and its immediate aftermath. Benjamin, expressing profound sorrow added, "That's a sad situation someone losing their life."
