A U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Campbell has been charged with the rape of a woman during her visit to Nashville in February, as confirmed by the Metro Nashville Police Department. Timothy Glass, 24, is alleged to have committed the assault after the victim, who was heavily intoxicated at the time, fell asleep in her hotel room.

As per WKRN, the incident occurred after the victim and her friend returned to their hotel near Nashville International Airport around 11 p.m; Glass claimed he had left an alcohol bottle in their room earlier, which was how he gained entry and then he stayed even after the victim had fallen asleep.

According to WSMV, the victim awoke to find Glass sexually assaulting her and after fleeing to the bathroom, informed a friend, who then confronted Glass and expelled him from the room.

The victim subsequently received medical attention at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. DNA evidence taken from both Glass and the medical evaluation of the victim matched, as detailed in court documents. Glass, who had been assigned to Fort Campbell since 2022, refused to make a statement after being read his Miranda rights during an interview attempt by investigators on February 21, as reported by WKRN.

Currently facing charges of felony rape of a helpless person, Glass was arrested and his bond has been set at $75,000; his military status as an active duty service member holding the rank of Private First Class has been confirmed by Fort Campbell representatives, and they have assured that they are "cooperating with Army investigative and local law enforcement authorities on this matter," as stated by WSMV.
