A deadly shooting at a popular Buckhead nightclub has left two people dead and four others wounded in an early morning melee, according to Atlanta police.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at Elleven45 Lounge, located at 2110 Peachtree Road NW around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found six individuals, three men, and three women, all believed to be in their 20s to 30s, suffering from gunshot wounds. A FOX 5 Atlanta report detailed that two victims, one man and one woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The four surviving victims were transferred to local medical facilities, Grady Memorial Hospital and Piedmont Hospital, and are expected to recover from their injuries. According to Atlanta News First, the confrontation that led to the shooting appears to have started with a dispute inside the club which escalated into a physical altercation and then gunfire.
Early information suggests there was a single shooter involved in the incident, however, no arrests have been made at this time, and the shooter's description remains unavailable. Atlanta police are currently examining surveillance videos from within the nightclub, with the hopes of identifying the individual responsible. They are also planning to interview the surviving victims, along, with other witnesses as the investigation continues.
Both the Atlanta Police Department and Elleven45 Lounge have yet to release further statements regarding the tragic shooting.
