A man was arrested Thursday, accused of swindling a Hendersonville business, TNT Watersports, out of a boat. Chase Brodie Brown, 24, allegedly conducted multiple fraudulent actions to secure the vessel, according to the Hendersonville Police Department.

His scheme, as described by authorities and TNT Watersports, involved the use of a counterfeit cashier's check. After obtaining the 2008 Malibu 247 LSV, he quickly sold the boat on Facebook Marketplace, leaving the business and subsequent buyer in the lurch, Fox17 reported. In a social media post, TNT Watersports appealed to the public, "REWARD!!! $1,000 reward for information leading to the return of our stolen property."

Brown faces serious charges, including one count of theft of property over $10,000 and one count of criminal simulation. Further charges could be tacked on, according to the police. His bond has been set at a staggering $300,000, with a court appearance slated for June 21. The Hendersonville Police Department, through WKRN, has called for anyone with additional information to step forward.

The department's request for community assistance echoes across different platforms, urging tipsters to contact Detective Holman. Information can be delivered through phone calls or texts, with a code to ensure the topic at hand is clear for law enforcement. "Tips can also be submitted by text to the number 274637 (CRIMES) using keyword TIPHPD," Hendersonville Police mentioned, as noted by WSMV.
