A 34-year-old man tragically perished after being yanked from the chilly grasp of Lake Michigan by the Chicago Police Marine Unit Saturday evening. According to Chicago Sun-Times, the authorities responded near 31st Street Beach on the South Side at around 6:11 p.m.
In an effort to save the man, rescue crews quickly transported him to University of Chicago Medical Center. Despite the rapid response, he succumbed and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the individual has yet to be released as the incident continues to be shrouded in mystery.
