Massachusetts State Police confirmed the shooting took place near the entrance of the beach; the injured man was subsequently transported to a Boston area hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, according to WCVB.

NBC10 Boston captured footage of a significant law enforcement presence on the scene and an ambulance in attendance, and they reported that the scene remained active past 9:15 p.m. with police visibly searching vehicles, and two individuals claimed off camera that their car, which had a shattered driver's side window, was the focus of a police search, according to NBC10 Boston.

Details emerged from shaken onlookers, as - "We just heard a bunch gunshots, we thought it was fireworks, but it turned out to be gunshots," Monica Lee recounted to CBS News Boston - following the incident that reportedly stemmed from an altercation involving several young men, which ended with the victim lying near a bullet-ridden car.
