Maple Grove's finest had a taste of community gratitude last week when two local churches, Life Assembly and The Grove, demonstrated their appreciation in a flavorful way. Members from the congregations, led by Dale DeMell and Scott Foster, showered the Maple Grove Police Department with food items and handwritten appreciation cards, an act of solidarity and support that didn't go unnoticed by the law enforcement community.
The churches, with hundreds of members between them, didn't just stop at edible offerings; they also dedicated a handmade wooden American flag for the department's roll call room, showing that patriotism and appreciation for local officers run deep in Maple Grove. According to a Facebook post by the Maple Grove Police Department, Dale and Scott emphasized that their visit to roll call with the gifts in tow stood for the hundreds of congregants they represent who all share a deep respect and trust for the police.
As reported by the Police Department's social media, the agency is humbled by the continuous support from Maple Grove residents and the churches' unsolicited acts of kindness solidify the vital relationships law enforcement has with the people they serve.
"They also dedicated a wooden American flag built by one congregation members for our roll call room," the department said in their statement, recognizing the physical representation of community and police unity now present in their day-to-day operations. With this kind of backing from local citizenry, the Maple Grove Police Department continues to serve with renewed vigor, knowing they have an entire community behind them.
