In response to the mass shooting at an Orange Mound block party, CrimeStoppers of Memphis has received a flood of tips, surpassing 50 as concerned citizens step forward to assist in the investigation. This surge has been likened to the high volume of tips previously seen in the rapper Young Dolph's murder case, according to Action News 5.

The fatal April 20 incident, which left two people dead and seven injured, has sparked a significant response from the Memphis Police Department who, to date, have identified 18 persons of interest, thanks in part to the information provided by CrimeStoppers. No arrests have been made as of yet, despite the sizable reward totaling $25,000 for information leading to an arrest, a sum bolstered by contributions from the Memphis City Council and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Memphis Police Department Interim Police Chief CJ Davis underscored a “zero tolerance” policy for unpermitted events in the wake of the tragedy, vowing to prevent future incidents. This came during a community meeting where emotions ran high, and residents demanded action and reassurances, as reported by FOX13 Memphis.

Amid the community’s pledge to stand strong, Jennifer Fason, the mother of victim Chalmar Fason drew attention with her resilience. "I ask myself, why me?" Fason said. "But you know, what I already knew the answer. I'm one of the strong ones," she told those gathered at the meeting, as WREG captured the emotional moment. Police Chief C.J. Davis offered her a consoling embrace, symbolizing the city's support for the aggrieved family.

The organization that traditionally gets about 3,600 tips a year now navigates through the deluge of information, hoping for the kind of success they’ve seen in up to 30 cases annually. The community waits, hoping that the substantial rewards offered will coax the necessary details from the shadows to bring justice to a neighborhood shaken by violence.
