The Memphis Police Department is on the lookout for a woman accused of pulling a gun on Burger King employees during a dispute over an online order. The incident, which occurred on May 6 at the chain's location at 5305 Winchester Road, has triggered an appeal to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect.
According to Action News 5, the confrontation began at the drive-through window, where the woman came to pick up her online order. The situation escalated, leading the woman to park her vehicle, described as an older model black Lexus by WREG, and enter the establishment to continue her verbal assault on an employee.
Witnesses told police that the woman eventually exited the Burger King, only to return with a silver semi-automatic handgun, which she placed on the counter in a threatening manner, as noted in the report obtained by Action News 5. She proceeded to help herself to several plastic cups, filled two with soda, and departed without paying for either the cups or the drinks.
In an effort to apprehend the woman, Memphis Police took to Facebook, releasing details of the incident and a request for information. "The suspect has not yet been identified," the Memphis Police Department stated in a plea for public assistance. No arrests have been made, and the case remains an ongoing investigation.
