
A tragic incident in Mesa has left a 3-year-old boy fighting for his life after he reportedly shot himself in the head on Thursday afternoon. The child was in a mobile home park near Main Street and Crismon Road when the shooting occurred around 3:45 p.m., AZFamily reports.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the young boy inflicted a gunshot wound upon himself and was swiftly taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of the following morning, officials reported that the boy remained in critical condition. The circumstances regarding how the child gained access to the firearm or whether any supervision was in place at the time of the incident have not been disclosed.
