Minnesotans looking to amp up their ride are in for a deal, as the state prepares to launch a generous e-bike rebate program this summer. Starting June 5, 2024, residents can apply for a hefty price cut on electric bicycles, as reported by the Coon Rapids Minnesota.
Under the initiative, eligible applicants could see rebates covering 50-75% of the e-bike's cost, along with certain accessories, potentially saving up to $1,500, as per the Coon Rapids Minnesota. With funds being limited, quick action is recommended. The rebate, however, depends on the buyer's income, seeking to make greener transportation options more accessible to a wider range of income brackets.
To snag the rebate, buyers must secure a certificate prior to purchasing their new wheels from an approved retailer, ensuring the discount kicks in at the point of sale. The program's design aims to ease the financial burden and promote sustainable modes of transportation.
However, potential applicants should note that while the printed spring issue of the Coon Rapids Connection newsletter indicated a July start date for applications, a subsequent correction on the city's website clears the air with June 5 as the authentic kick-off. "We apologize for any confusion," the correction reads, addressing the discrepancy head-on.
