Early Sunday morning, the community of North Lawndale on Chicago's West Side became the scene of another violent outburst. A 39-year-old man, standing peacefully on a sidewalk in the 1400 block of South Harding Avenue, was transformed into a casualty when an unidentified shooter unleashed a hail of bullets, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The man, whose name has not been released, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Almost two hours could not even pass before tragedy struck the neighborhood again. Near the 1300 block of South Christiana Avenue, a man, 28, was shot in the back and declared dead following the incident. According to ABC7 Chicago, the attack also left two women, aged 18 and 28, with bullet wounds to their legs. They were transported to the hospital, with authorities expecting their recovery to be okay.
Investigations by Chicago police are underway in both cases, yet no suspects have been arrested. As detectives search for leads, the motives behind these brutal acts remain shrouded in mystery.
