Nashville Authorities Intensify Search for Convicted Sex Offender Suspected in Assault Near Vanderbilt Medical CenterSource: Facebook / Metropolitan Nashville Police Department

Nashville police are on the hunt for a known sex offender after a recent attack near Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Daniel Revette, 39, who has a history of sexual offenses, is now wanted for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery, and attempted rape following the assault on a medical center employee on May 11.

The attack took place outside the medical center's East parking garage at 1215 21st Avenue South, where the female employee encountered Revette, pacing nearby. Before she could get away, Revette assaulted her from behind, choking her and threatening her life. His past, marked by violence and predation, stretches back to 2007 when he was convicted of attempted rape, and handed a six-year sentence, and most recently convicted of aggravated assault in 2021.

Advancements in forensic science, coupled with diligent police work, helped identify Revette as the assailant—a man already under life-long community supervision by the Tennessee Department of Correction. "Collaboration between detectives and scientists at the MNPD crime laboratory led to the identification of Revette as the suspect," detailed Nashville.gov.

Following the assault, the victim managed to escape her attacker's grip and evade further harm. Since then, Nashville Crime Stoppers have been appealing for any information on Revette's whereabouts, providing a contact number, 615-742-7463 for any leads. Revette, reported to be homeless, is a figure of menace, roaming somewhere within the hum of the city, eluding the grasp of justice, as it reaches for him through the warrants issued on May 18 for sex offender registration violation and community supervision violation.

The city watches, waits, and hopes for the swift apprehension of Revette, ensuring that safety and justice are not merely ideas but actualities safeguarded within the streets where the vulnerable walk. As the search intensifies, Nashville authorities remain determined to protect the community from those who lurk in the shadows of society's margins.
