Tragedy struck on a Memphis street when a road rage incident escalated to gunfire, leading to the death of 74-year-old Nashville man. According to Action News 5, the victim, identified as Frank Platt, was involved in a confrontation that turned deadly on Coleman Road and Magevney Street around 7 p.m. Monday night.

Platt was rushed in critical condition to Methodist North Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Attempts to trace the perpetrator are underway, with Memphis Police Dept urging those with any leads to step forward, as stated by WSMV.

Close friends and family are mourning the loss of what they describe as a fun-loving and optimistic community leader. "We were always able to converse in multiple ways, but it always came down to we’re drinking Miller Lite together," Platt’s friend, Greg ‘Woody’ Wood reflected in an interview obtained by WREG.

Describing the victim, Platt's brother, Malcolm Platt, lamented the loss of his "one of a kind" sibling who "always found the good in people." Malcolm recalled with WREG their last conversation, a poignant foreshadowing of the tragedy: "I told him that I wish that I shared his faith in humanity, but I don’t," Malcolm said. "And if he wasn’t careful, he was going to end up dead, and that happened." Memphis Police have yet to release further details on the shooting investigation.
