A skydiver in Hollis, New Hampshire, experienced an unexpected detour Sunday evening when he found himself entangled 60 feet high in the branches of a tree. According to the Boston 25 News, the mishap occurred roughly 250 feet away from the road at the address of 145 Runnells Bridge Road around 7 p.m. Responders from the local fire department were summoned to safely extract the man from his lofty plight.
The Hollis Fire Department rapidly assembled at the scene, deploying a ladder to reach the marooned thrill-seeker, according to a statement obtained by MassLive. They managed to safely bring him back down to terra firma, where first responders evaluated him and happily reported no injuries sustained. The Pepperell Fire Department was also on site, assisting during the rescue.
Officials have not confirmed what led to the skydiver’s misadventure. However, factors such as weather conditions and equipment malfunctions are commonly known to imperil such high-flying activities. The incident served as a reminder of the inherent risks associated with skydiving.
