The Memphis Police Department (MPD) received a call just before midnight, rushing to the scene of the shooting at Love's Travel Stop, located in the 3300 block of Lamar Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a fatal gunshot wound, as reported by Action News 5.

A second individual, details of their gender and age not disclosed, managed to reach St. Francis Hospital in non-critical condition, arriving by private vehicle, a development that was also covered by WREG.
