Surf's up for Pacific Beach as they gear up for the grand opening of Hideaway, the latest hotspot promising to blend coastal flair with culinary charm. Set to open its doors on June 20, this chichi establishment is already generating buzz as the new 'it' place to hit for a cool, relaxed vibe and a taste of Americana with a twist.
Spanning a generous 5,500 square feet, Hideaway looks set to offer a laid-back haunt for the beach crowd on Mission Boulevard near the postcard-perfect Crystal Pier. According to San Diego Eater, revelers can expect an ambiance dripping in retro, with nods to the halcyon days of surf culture, all whilst nibbling on everything from wood-fired pizza to braised short ribs.
In a move that's sure to make waves, Hideaway is not just relying on its stylish digs to pull the crowds. They're laying on the entertainment, too, with live music, DJS, and enough space to while away hours on their patios, by the fireside, or in large dining areas tailor-made for groups. What's more, fans of libations can look forward to two full-service bars boasting 30 beer taps, specialty drinks, and the promise of sharable social bowls – think mini party kegs filled with margaritas and, yes, a flaming Volcano bowl.
As teased on their Instagram, the team behind Hideaway is "stoked and working around the clock to make Hideaway your Pacific Beach home away from home." With whispers of giveaways and surprises, anticipation is skyrocketing among their growing following. This spot is geared up to do more than just serve food and drinks; it's shaping up to be a full-blown experience.
Hideaway's parent company, Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group, which also operates Tower12 in Hermosa Beach, has big plans for San Diego. With Hideaway deemed as just the beginning, president and CEO Greg Newman has expressed intentions to expand their footprint, potentially bringing more successful restaurant brands to neighborhoods like Little Italy, as they already have in other parts of California.
