
In a grim discovery, a work crew cutting trees along Cypress Creek Trail stumbled upon human remains on April 24, which have now been identified as those of a local Houston woman missing since last year, authorities said.
The skeletal remains were found hidden in the woods in the 11500 block of Cypresswood, sparking an immediate response from Harris County Precinct 4 deputies, who secured the scene alongside the county's Homicide Investigators and the Harris Co Institute of Forensic Sciences, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted. The cause and manner of death of the woman, identified as 63-year-old "Joann" Osageide Montgomery, have not been confirmed, as officials await the results of ongoing forensic analysis.
