Sally's Apizza, a New Haven institution beloved for its crispy, charred pizzas, is slated to quickly lay down new roots in Massachusetts, eyeing Dorchester and Concord for its latest expansion. According to The Boston Globe, these 2025 openings will join the Woburn outpost that launched in 2023 to much fanfare and endless queues of dedicated patrons hungry for a slice of Sally's trademark pie.
In Concord, the pizzeria will become part of a trifecta alongside Chipotle and Starbucks, taking over what used to be a Papa Razzi space. Dorchester's South Bay complex is to set also welcome Sally's next door to—you guessed it—another Chipotle and Starbucks duo. Looking to quickly capitalize on its growing popularity, Sally's is concurrently putting together another shop in the bustling Seaport area.
Famed for its coal-fired pizza and a variety of pastas, Sally's Apizza remains a culinary force with a loyal following, despite the friendly competition from another New Haven transplant, Frank Pepe's, which has a noteworthy presence in Boston as well. The original Sally's started flipping dough back in 1938 and, according to its experience page, holds tight to the same recipes and techniques that have carried the Consiglio family legacy through the decades.
