Crack of dawn on May 2, a San Bruno business burglar awoke to the long arm of the law outside his Elm Avenue crib when local cops closed in. In a swift 7:00 a.m. raid, San Bruno's finest put the cuffs on the alleged thief, a 33-year-old male resident of the city, suspected of smashing his way into a business and helping himself to a stash of loot, police said.

Just days ago, officers were piecing together the aftermath of a commercial break-in on the 900 block of W San Bruno Ave, where a perp had forced entry and swiped various items before vanishing into the night, the San Bruno Police Department detailed in a post on their Facebook page.

Diligence and detective work by the Special Response Unit (SRU) and bureau investigators bore fruit, leading them directly to the suspect's doorstep at his 700 block of Elm Ave hideaway — this on the same day the San Bruno Police Department shared news of the arrest on social media.

Once inside the burglar's lair, officers didn't just nab their man. They also unearthed a collection of pilfered items from the aforementioned business. According to the authorities, the burgled goods are poised to return to their rightful owner. The suspect, meanwhile, faces the music at San Mateo County Jail on commercial burglary charges.
