A grisly discovery in San Lorenzo has left a neighborhood reeling after deputies found two women fatally shot in a residence on Dermody Avenue. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the double homicide that appears to have occurred around May 1. A person of interest is currently being held in connection with the deaths of the women, both in their thirties, who lived at the home where their bodies were discovered.
The case took a turn on May 4, when family members, concerned after not being able to reach the women since April 30, reported them missing. The Eden Township Substation deputies were prompted to conduct a welfare check at the residence, where they were found deceased inside. Law enforcement officials have assured the public that there is no known threat to their safety. However, details surrounding the victims and the suspect have been withheld as the investigation remains ongoing.
According to a post on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page, "Our investigators are actively and diligently working in close collaboration with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office to bring justice in this egregious case."
Authorities are reaching out to the community for assistance, and anyone with information is urged to come forward. Detectives C. Galloway and R. Chevalier are leading the investigation and can be reached at (510) 926-2386 and (510) 725-2976, respectively. In light of these harrowing events, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office has committed to see justice served.
