The search for a man who disappeared beneath the surface of Bartlett Lake in Arizona intensified Monday, as authorities pushed forward with their recovery efforts. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has been scouring the area since Sunday evening after the man was reported to have gone underwater around 6:30 p.m. near Bartlett Lake Flats and did not resurface. As of now, the man's identity and the circumstances leading to his disappearance remain undisclosed by the officials.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the search operation has been underway since the authorities were first alerted to the incident. The incident at Bartlett Lake, located on the northwest side of the water body, marks yet another event for an area still reeling from the loss of 46-year-old Richard Myers, who the sheriff's office says fell off a rock, hit his head and fell into the water just a week earlier.
Although details are slim, 12News reports that deputies arrived at the scene following the distress call on Sunday. Efforts to locate the man have been ongoing, with no further updates on his condition or the recovery operation's progress.
