
A tragic hit-and-run in Downers Grove claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman late Thursday night, as confirmed by local police authorities. The incident occurred on the 600 block of Ogden Avenue around 9:11 p.m., where the victim was found dead on the roadway, reported ABC 7 Chicago.
According to the Downers Grove Police Department, the woman was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle described as a dark-colored Honda or Acura SUV. The driver failed to properly adhere to the scene, instead choosing to continue westbound. The search for the hit-and-run driver is ongoing, as stated by officials.
The Downers Grove Police and the DuPage Major Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the fatal crash. NBC Chicago provided details that the vehicle involved was a small-to-mid-sized SUV.
