Arizona's landscape, best known for its sweltering desert, is getting a cool new addition this summer: a mountain coaster that promises thrill-seekers a unique ride with breathtaking views. Sunrise Park Resort in Greer, Arizona is finalizing its Sunrise Apache Alpine Coaster, with an opening scheduled for early summer, as reported by ABC15.
Setting itself apart from the typical amusement park fare, this coaster will offer individual carts complete with hand brakes, letting riders dictate their own pace as they descent. "Riders will load at the base of the mountain, right at the base of the ski slopes," said Tyler Shultz, the marketing director at Sunrise Park Resort, as per ABC15. Each cart can reach speeds up to 25 miles per hour and features a safety system that prevents collisions on the 3,287-foot track.
But the mountain coaster isn't the only outdoor activity Arizonans can look forward to this summer. For those looking to slide in the sun, Canyon Coaster Adventure Park offers a summer mountain tubing experience, where visitors ascend hills with ease thanks to uphill conveyors protected by plexiglass, ensuring all-day comfort. Details about these attractions can be found on the park's website.
Whether it's defying gravity on a mountain coaster or enjoying a novel tubing experience, Arizona seems poised to become a year-round destination for family-friendly outdoor adventures. As Santa Fe shredded the heat, visitors can look forward to 60 to 70 degrees of "beautiful fresh mountain air" all summer long at the Sunrise Park Resort, as Tyler Shultz told ABC15. Sunrise Park Resort [200 Highway 273] in Greer, Arizona, along with Canyon Coaster Adventure Park, are gearing up to offer residents and tourists alike new ways to make their summer and winter seasons both memorable and exhilarating.
