
A fifteen-year-old girl is facing multiple felony charges after her arrest on May 19, 2024, by members of the Bureau of Counterterrorism Team, as announced by CPD. The juvenile, whose identity remains protected due to her age, has been charged with three counts of robbery and three counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
The Chicago Police Department's press release stated that the offenses occurred on the night of May 10, 2024, beginning with an incident on the 0-100 block of W. 79th St. where a 29-year-old male was battered and robbed, then proceeded to the 0-100 block of W. 95th St. where a 22-year-old female fell victim to a similar fate, and finally, a 21-year-old female was assaulted and robbed on the 100 block of W. Cermak Rd.; the crimes spanned from approximately 10:45 p.m. to just past 2:00 a.m., reflecting a trail of violence and theft.
The suspect was apprehended in the 4300 block of S. Greenwood Ave. and, upon identification as the assailant from the CTA train incidents, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials. The young offender is now poised to face the juvenile justice system, where the gravity of the charges underscores the serious nature of her alleged actions.
Details regarding the circumstances of her arrest and specifics of her alleged involvement were not released, and police have not divulged whether they suspect the involvement of other individuals in the series of attacks and robberies on the public transportation system.
