A 15-year-old boy became the latest casualty of Chicago's street violence after being stabbed by a group of attackers in the Loop, officials said. The teen was attacked on Sunday afternoon near the Goodman Theater in a brazen daylight assault.
While standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Dearborn Avenue, the young victim was approached by four men at about 4:40 p.m., according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Two of the men, wielding knives, proceeded to stab him in the back. After the attackers fled the scene, leaving him wounded and alone, he was then taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital where he was listed in fair condition.
No arrests had been made in connection with the stabbing as of Sunday evening, and the search for the suspects by Chicago police was ongoing. Area Three detectives were assigned to investigate the unsettling incident that added to the tally of youth violence plaguing the city.
