The search intensifies for Iza Rodriguez, the 15-year-old from San Antonio who vanished on Sunday, leaving her family and authorities seeking clues about her whereabouts, San Antonio Police has confirmed her disappearance, and the case has gained urgent attention as days pass without a trace of her.
Described as 5 feet 3 inches with shoulder-length black hair, Iza Rodriguez's last known location was in the northwest residential quarter of the city near Salado Creek Gateway, her family told FOX San Antonio; she left home early Sunday morning from The Park at Vista Del Norte and has not been seen or heard from since.
Gwendolyn Laport, Iza's sister, has voiced the mounting fears the family holds, stating, "With each day that passes it gets more scarier, the thoughts of where she is, or who’s she with or where she could be," in an interview with KENS 5. Amidst concern is the alarming discovery made by the family that Iza had left her phone behind, which, upon inspection, revealed communication with an unknown individual over the internet.
As a high schooler at Churchill High School Iza's behavior, her absence is highly out of character her friends and acquaintances haven't provided any leads, "She's never been gone this long. She's never not talked to anyone this long. This is unlike her at this point," an unnamed family member shared with FOX San Antonio. The local community and law enforcement continue their appeal to the public, asking anyone with information on Iza Rodriguez's disappearance to contact the San Antonio Police's Missing Person's Unit at 210-207-7660, the urgency is palpable as the clock ticks on an ordeal no family should have to face.
