A roadway confrontation escalated into a threatening situation in Vacaville, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old man for brandishing what appeared to be a Glock handgun, which turned out to be a BB gun. The Vacaville Police Department reported that the harrowing episode occurred just after 2:30 p.m. when a driver called 911 after another motorist allegedly pointed a gun at him near a construction site on Leisure Town Rd.
According to the Vacaville Police Department, the caller "provided dispatch with a detailed description of the other car, and where it was last seen headed." With this information, officers could readily find and flag down the suspect. The driver reportedly complied with the officers' commands and was swiftly detained.
The subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a black firearm and an extended magazine. Initially indistinguishable from a Glock, closer inspection revealed the weapon to be an imitation BB gun indeed. The young man, hailing from Vacaville, was booked into the Solano County Jail on charges related to the brandishing of an imitation firearm.
The Vacaville Police reminded the public of the crucial need to "call 911 and be prepared to provide: Your LOCATION, description of what you’re seeing or what the officers need to look for. The more detailed the better!" They further added, "Your attention to the dispatcher. Listen. Answer their questions. It’s the only way they can get help to you."
