A violent altercation on Hollywood Road ended with a woman in cuffs and another in the hospital. The Atlanta Police Department reported that at around 8:45 PM, May 24, 2024, officers rushed to the scene at 1634 Hollywood Road NW after a report of a stabbing.
Arriving at the residence, law enforcement found a 63-year-old woman with a stab wound on her left arm. Despite her injury, she was "alert, conscious, and breathing," according to the Atlanta Police Department's news release. The victim received prompt medical attention and was shuttled to a local hospital.
In a twist right out of a neighborhood drama, the suspect turned out to be a 61-year-old woman, who was found at the scene and swiftly detained by officers. The assault rattled the relatively quiet street where residents are not accustomed to flashing cruiser lights and crime scene tape.
Continuing the investigation, the Aggravated Assault Unit took over and after digging deeper into the incident, the assailant was taken into custody. Charges have been leveled against her for her involvement in the altercation. The Atlanta Police Department has not yet disclosed a motive or the relationship, if any, between the two women. The name of the suspect is also being withheld pending further investigation.
