A Worcester man is cooling his heels behind bars for allegedly pulling a knife during a spat on Millbury Street. According to the Worcester Police Department, officers were called to the scene near a local business around 5:32 pm on May 20, where they learned that a verbal altercation had spiraled into a dangerous confrontation involving bladed weapons.
The incident started when the victim, who was not named, claimed he was approached and threatened by a man after leaving work, after a short argument the man departed, but as fate would have it, their paths crossed again at a convenience store, this individual—later identified as 37-year-old Donnell Blocker—reportedly brandished a knife, prompting the victim to do the same in defense. Both men managed to walk away unscathed, though shaken, paving the way for police intervention.
Police inquiries quickly led to Blocker's doorstep, where officers reportedly found him in possession of a knife that matched the description provided by the victim. Blocker faces multiple charges: assault with a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime, and possession of a per se dangerous weapon.
"The victim told officers that he stepped outside of his workplace and was approached by a man who threatened him," thus began a chain of events culminating in Blocker's arrest, as detailed in the press release. Blocker's day in court has not yet been scheduled, and it remains to be seen how the charges will be contested or corroborated following the Worcester Police's investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
