Authorities have collared a suspect in the stabbing that shook a Worcester street earlier this month. Thirty-five-year-old Joseph Erb of Austin St stands accused in the violent May 2 incident, according to a recent update from the Worcester Police Department.
The ordeal unfolded on Chandler St, where at approximately 3:35 PM, local officers rushed to the scene following a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon. They found the male victim wounded on the sidewalk, taking immediate steps to provide medical aid until an ambulance arrived.
Erb, now facing charges related to the attack, was arrested on a warrant on May 25, 2024. Worcester detectives, having taken over the investigation, continue to delve into the circumstances surrounding the assault. As they piece together what transpired, the police are urging anyone with information to step forward.
