A shooting on Monday night in the vicinity of Jackson Park, Chicago has left three individuals wounded, including a 14-year-old girl. According to the Chicago Tribune, the incident took place on DuSable Lake Shore Drive at around 10:00 P.M., where police found the victims with gunshot wounds.
Alongside the young girl who was struck twice in the leg, two men, aged 30 and 31, were also injured - the former shot in the leg and the latter in the back. A gunman, having opened fire, was reported by authorities to have fled the scene on a bicycle. While all the victims were in fair condition, no arrests have been made in the wake of the incident.
The shooting occurred near Reggie's On The Beach restaurant, a popular local spot by 63rd Street Beach. Injured in the crime, the three victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, with the teenager being taken to Comer Children's Hospital, as noted by ABC7 Chicago. The men were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Following the shooting, a significant number of officers were stationed close to 63rd Street Beach, focusing their investigation on a parking lot where a private party was reportedly taking place. As per police statements, no motive has been identified, and Area One detectives continue to look into what might have precipitated the shooting.
