
A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded alongside a 30-year-old man in a double shooting on Chicago's Southeast Side late Monday night, according to the Chicago Tribune. Official reports indicate the two individuals were among a group standing near the 2900 block of East 90th Street when they were gunned down around 10:00 P.M. The boy suffered a severe abdominal injury, while the man received wounds to his hand and leg.
The WLS-TV recounted that the juvenile victim was promptly transported to Comer Children’s Hospital and is under critical medical care, his condition is grave and of considerable concern the 30-year-old victim, who has not been named, was meanwhile taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where his condition was stabilized and reported as good despite the violent circumstances of the event.
As of now, Chicago police have not apprehended any suspects in connection to the shooting, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear. Detectives from Area Two are actively investigating the crime scene and seeking information that could lead to an arrest, highlighting the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in curtailing gun violence in the city.
