
A 16-year-old male has been formally charged following a violent incident that occurred in the 0-100 block of N. Mayfield Ave., according to the Chicago Police Department's release. The juvenile is facing multiple felony charges including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, armed robbery, unlawful vehicular invasion, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon under 21, and possession of a stolen firearm.
The charges stem from an event on June 13, 2024, where at approximately 8:53 p.m., the juvenile allegedly entered a vehicle, demanded property from the occupant, and subsequently shot and injured a 52-year-old male. The incident took place within the 15th District and the juvenile was apprehended on the following day, June 23, in the 100 block of N. Austin Blvd.
The subsequent detention hearing for the accused is scheduled to take place at 2600 S. California on June 24, 2024. As of now, the authorities have not disclosed additional information regarding the circumstances of the arrest or the current condition of the victim.
