The streets of East Nashville have been witness to a recent crackdown on vehicle theft, and this effort has culminated in the arrest of a 19-year-old suspected to be involved in a series of car thefts. Christopher Eddie of Madison is now in custody following a concerted initiative by the East Precinct detectives, a Metropolitan Nashville Police Department press release confirmed. Over the past few months, an investigation into an organized ring has unraveled the operations of multiple teenagers, including Eddie, who was singled out late last year for his alleged involvement in stealing several Hyundais and Kias.

Surveillance footage from the MDHA cameras situated in the Cayce Homes neighborhood placed Eddie at the scene during December and January, where he appeared to be either driving the stolen vehicles or assisting in the theft of others and last night, amidst the MNPD's intensified operations to combat such crimes, detectives observed Eddie departing a 2023 Toyota 4Runner, recently reported stolen from Litton Avenue, Eddie attempted to evade the police on foot but was swiftly detained. According to the MNPD, his engagement in these illicit activities is evidenced by 11 outstanding warrants that include six charges of vehicle theft, joyriding, and vandalism.

Following the arrest, Eddie has faced additional charges, including vehicle theft, vandalism, and evading arrest, he remains incarcerated with a bond set at $175,000. In alignment with standard procedure and the ongoing investigation, Eddie's booking photo has been withheld due to pending photo lineups which may serve as crucial for further identification by potential witnesses or victims.
