St. Louis Park's ongoing Alley Reconstruction continues into the summer with project contractor GL Contracting setting its sights squarely on Alley B. Residents can expect the current focus on revamping this sector to remain uninterrupted, with the exception of the national holiday pause, as the city endeavors to modernize its infrastructure. According to the latest construction update from the city, there will be no work occurring on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, in observance of the holiday.
The week of July 1 will involve the removal of the old asphalt from Alley B, as stated in the update released on June 28 by St. Louis Park's construction bulletin. Crucial to the smooth progression of work, the bulletin notes, "all solid waste receptacles must be moved to the front of your home during construction of the alley." The transition to concrete installation is expected the following week.
Progress on Alley C has been completed, allowing for a return to normalcy for waste receptacle placement. Attention is drawn to the driveways in this area, temporarily filled with gravel—these are due to receive their final paving in the third week of July. At this juncture, Alley E and F residents have been given a heads-up that their turn for reconstruction commences the week of July 15, with notices to be provided ahead of any closures.
For those seeking detailed expectations about the reconstruction effects, the city recommends viewing the 2024 Alley Reconstruction Newsletter or visiting the project website.
