Residents found in violation of the restrictions could be slapped with hefty penalties, facing criminal citations or complaints and fines up to $1,000, as per the City of Avondale. Avondale's law enforcement reminds that, beyond the fine, individuals may be held financially and legally accountable for any damages, injuries, or fires resulting from fireworks misuse. The enforcement comes as a response to several incidents reported annually, linked to fireworks-related emergencies.
The Avondale Fire-Medical Department will join forces with the police, promoting a campaign to educate the public about the potential risks of fireworks, which range from severe burns, to fractures, and even life-threatening injuries. In lieu of personal fireworks displays, officials are recommending professional events such as the "Avondale Lights up the Sky Celebration" on July 4.
