Four young boys, ages 12 and 13, are facing the consequences of their actions after vandalizing a school construction site on the 2300 block of Smith Road in Brentwood. The incident occurred on the evening of June 9th, with the city's Police Department responding to a call from a security company just after 8:30 p.m. According to a post on the City of Brentwood - Police Department, the juveniles discharged fire extinguishers, causing extensive damage.

Trying to flee on bikes when officers arrived, the youths were taken into custody. The project manager, assessing the damage after they were caught, shared that the actions of these juveniles had caused significant setbacks. Having discharged all of the property's fire extinguishers, the cleanup and repair will be no small task. Still, the juveniles did not meet the criteria to be detained in Juvenile Hall due to their ages, which flora around the edges of childhood and adolescence.

The young vandals were eventually released to their parents, pending further criminal charges and an ongoing investigation. While the names of the young individuals involved have not been disclosed due to their age, the community has been left to deal with the repercussions of this destructive whim. The police department and local authorities are now working to determine the full scope of the damage, as well as the appropriate next steps to both address the vandalism and its root causes.
