Attention local contractors! Butts County is calling for bids for the 2024 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) for street improvements. Interested parties are invited to submit their sealed proposals for a project that includes the construction of approximately 6.83 miles of leveling, resurfacing, and patching of local thoroughfares. The official bid opening will occur at the Butts County Board of Commissioners office located at 625 West Third Street, Suite 4, Jackson, Georgia 30233 on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., where they will be made public, according to the county's official website.
The county stipulates that the work outlined in the contract must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days from the date contractors receive the go-ahead. Prospective bidders can find the Bid Proposal Forms and review the necessary Contract Documents and Specifications at either the office of the County Manager or with Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., the Consulting Engineers overseeing the project. Hofstadter and Associates, located at 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia, are providing copies of the required documents for a deposit of $150.00 per set, which is non-refundable.
Bidders should note that Butts County will only consider submissions that are sealed and delivered before the aforementioned deadline. To be taken into account, bids must also be supplemented by a Bidder's Bond equating to 10 percent of the bid amount which, in the event of an accepted bid, will be converted into liquidated damages if the bidder does not swiftly execute a written contract and arrange the necessary bonds and insurance certificates. Late arrivals will face rejection as the county will return any bids received after the allotted time unopened.
Furthermore, submitted bids will be held in stasis and not withdrawn for a wait period of 60 days following the bid opening. Exercising due diligence, the Butts County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to ignore any informalities or discrepancies that might arise within the bids. For more information or to acquire the required bidding documents, interested parties may contact Hofstadter and Associates, Inc. directly.
