The Cambridge Council on Aging is hosting a series of music jam sessions that might just be the perfect way to spend Monday afternoons. As advertised on the Council's website, these jam sessions are an open invitation to anyone over the age of 60 who either plays an instrument or carries a tune in their vocals.
The gatherings are taking place at 806 Massachusetts Ave, and are scheduled for the coming Mondays of June - specifically, the 10th, 17th, and 24th between the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. According to details from the Council's website, famed Saxophonist Bobby Tynes will be at the helm, guiding participants through the sessions along with his band of talented musicians.
In the words lifted from the Council's announcement, "You will enjoy making music with these musicians. Their music inspires all to keep coming back for more! So bring your voice, drumsticks, guitars, drums, harmonicas... and most importantly your love of playing music with others!" Whether you are an amateur or a retired professional, the stage is open and no registration is required.
