Chicago residents are poised for a mix of weather conditions over the coming days, with forecasts indicating sunny skies, breezy winds, a scintillating chance of showers, and even the potential for thunderstorms. According to a detailed forecast by the National Weather Service, today in Chicago will be sunny with a high near 75, along with breezy conditions with northwest winds from 15 to 20 mph and gusts possibly reaching as high as 35 mph.
This evening will shift to partly cloudy, with temperatures dipping to a low of around 62. Breezy conditions will continue as, the northwest wind shifts to the south-southwest after midnight. The occurrence of gusts up to 20 mph is also on the cards, the forecast states. As the weekend approaches, there's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, heralding partly sunny skies with highs inching toward 73. The winds, expected to gust as high as 20 mph, will contribute to a "Limited Thunderstorm Risk," as reported in a hazardous weather outlook for the region.
The outlook from the National Weather Service's Chicago office also highlights an elevated fire weather risk for today, created by a blend of strong wind gusts and low humidity. While these elemental forces churn, no spotter activation will be deemed necessary through tonight. Looking forward, the forecast for Saturday night predicts mostly cloudy conditions initially, which are expected to clear out, ushering in a low around 59.
Chicagoans can expect a sunny end to the weekend on Sunday with a high near 78, and winds maintaining a gentler pace at 5 to 10 mph. Moreover, the week is set to commence with mostly sunny skies on Monday, although temperatures will cool to a high near 65. The pattern of nighttime partly cloudy skies persists, with lows hovering around the mid-50s. By Wednesday, the city anticipates sunny conditions, with a climb to a warm high near 81.
